Hello, I hope that all is well.

I’ve starting building a website with Twenty Twenty Three on the Local app, and I created several pages for the site. I have made a few pages submenu items under one page. under a But after updating both WordPress and the theme today, I noticed that the navigation redirects all pages to the homepage. As a fix, I’ve :

    • removed + replaced plugins (I removed Custom Fonts and replaced it with Twentig for WP 6.3 compatibility)
    • replaced Twenty Twenty Three with another theme (tried Twenty Twenty Two and the navigation works perfectly)
    • cleared the Chrome browser cache
    • tried the Safari browser

I don’t know what else to do. May I please get help with this? The site is for my first client and she’s expecting things to work.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration

    Kind regards always, Nicole

Hi @nicolet301 – that definitely sounds frustrating. With the site only being local – it’s hard to know what to suggest when it comes to troubleshooting.

A couple of first things I can suggest checking (and reporting back on) to help would be:

    • When you click the links in the nav does the URL change in the browser address bar? Or does it always just show https://atplay.local/ ?
    • If you right-click on a navigation item and ‘copy’ the link – could you share what it copies (you can past it into your reply) for a few example menu items?
    • When you edit the navigation – do they show the correct URLs/links in the editor?

Good morning/Hello @jordesign, thank you so much for your reply and suggestions for solving my problem! Yes, it’s frustrating and weird.

Following your advice, I checked my nav bar again today and saw that:

Thanks for the extra information @nicolet301.

What it sounds like is that the pages are linked and redirecting correctly (as the URL in the page changes). But i may be that your site’s page template is set up without the block which pulls in the specific content of each page – so it looks like it is always loading the same page.

To check that could you please:

    • Open the Site Editor (from Appearance > Editor in your admin menu).
    • Go to Templates and select ‘Page’ (If you don’t have a page template there – that could be one cause of the problem).
    • When you click to open the ‘Page’ template you can open the ‘List View’. https://i.imgur.com/lc0Hx2A.png
    • You’ll want to check if the page includes a ‘Post Content’ block in the layout. If there’s not one there – could you please insert one?
