Navigation block inside pattern won’t save

  • I have a large menu that I show inside a pattern so I can add it below a category of posts.

    To update the menu I add the menu item to the menu. After that I used to update the pattern by clicking on the navigation block. In the block settings you can choose the menu you want to show and Import the now updated menu. After importing it appears in the list with the words “draft” after the menu item. After saving the Pattern, the block was updated and the word “draft” was removed.

    The last couple of weeks (maybe) months, the word “draft” doesn’t disappear and the pattern no longer shows the newly imported menu.

    I tried disabling plugins, remove the navigation block from the pattern, save, add it again, etc.

    Maybe related to how the import function works. Since a couple of WordPress versions it is no longer possible to remove imported menu’s? In previous WordPress versions it was possible to remove the imported navigation options that are obsolete.

    Any help or ideas on how to fix this problem?

    Thank you iu34. Updating the menu outside the pattern unfortunately does not work as the pattern keeps making use of the older imported menu items.

    I just hope someone will find a fix eventually. Github is a bit of a mystery to me as I am not a developer.
