Loving this theme. Using 2.8.3, which is the latest here on www.ads-software.com.

I decided to add a couple of categories to a parent page on a site I’m working on. Essentially, a portfolio page, with a couple of categories as navigation items that are under that page. To get to those categories though, you have to click on the page, and click links there – you can’t use the nav menu on the mobile browser because the hover stuff doesn’t work.

Is this part of your upcoming nav fix? Is there a way that I can fix it now with some CSS of some sort?

    Any guidance would be great!

  • A temporary fix, until I release my overhaul, would be to put the navigation in the sidebar. Make a widget with links to the pages you want.

Thanks for the response, Scott – I appreciate it. Any idea on when the next release will be? A week? A month? Six months?

The sidebar, as a temporary workaround, may work. Let me fiddle a bit. And idea of how temporary would be great, though.

    Thanks again. ??

One (2.8.4) is already approved and waiting to be made live by a theme reviews admin. This is usually a short process, but it seems the theme admins are still in holiday break mode.

The next update (2.8.5) I’m continuing to build and will at the very least include the ability to put the navigation in the sidebar “out of the box.” I’m continuing to develop this update and I’m submitting it as soon as 2.8.4 goes live. If 2.8.4 takes long enough to be made live, then I’ll have time to finish the navigation menu revamp completely. Otherwise, this will be pushed to the next update.

So, in short, less than a month. I put all my code on GitHub too, so you can feel free to look around and download in development versions there. You may be interested in this comparison.

I’ve actually just finished landing this in the next update. I’m marking this as resolved since it’s certain to be released.

So, I’ve got 2.9 in place. The dropdown works better, but… Now I can’t click on the parent page… Even on a PC. The child pages work as they should, but I actually have content on the parent as well.

    Any suggestions?

Yes, I made a tradeoff to get the drop downs working consistently. Most drop downs (certainly not all) have the parent link empty and only the child links are active. I’m working on a solution to make the parent link active after the drop down is shown.

I’ve finished the solution as of today. It’s taken quite a bit of time, but I think it’s the perfect solution!

    Fixed in Decode 2.9.1.
