    Hi,

I loaded the Eksell theme onto my WP to try it out.

When I Activated it, and also in the Preview mode, I am seeing a weird issue with the navigation of my site. Please see screen shot below. I first thought it was an issue with my navigation so I rebuilt/replicated my site’s “Primary” nav however the issue is still there. Does this theme support sub-navigation?

Separate from above, is there a way to have the blog posts render in the traditional reverse chronological order with the full text displaying vs. the tiled method that renders by default? I realize that this is a portfolio driven theme so it may not be built for that but was just curious.

    Thanks
    Stephen

    Hi @sgclark,

Yeah, it supports sub menus, and that’s definitely not supposed to happen. Could you post a link to your site? I can’t replicate the issue in my development environment, or on the demo site (where you can see an example of the sub menus in action).

There’s not a way to render the blog posts in a traditional, chronological blog flow, unfortunately. I might add support for that down the line, but it would be a big opt-in feature, so it’s pretty unlikely.

    My site is here:

I am using a child theme of the base GeneratePress theme currently.

I don’t have your theme activated however I can do so temporarily if that would be helpful.

@sgclark Thanks Stephen, that would be really helpful. I can take a look at it as soon as you’ve switched over.

OK. It is switched over to your theme. Please let me know when you are done so I can switch it back. Sorry for the delay in response. Got distracted with that thing called work. ??

@sgclark Work will do that! You’re good to switch back now – I caught the issue. Something in your server configuration caused the “greater than” character (>) to close the HTML elements when used in HTML attributes. I’ll solve it in the next update by encoding the character.

    Thanks again for the help!

Also, I’m going to alert my web host about this. I have no idea how they configured the servers my site is on (a bit beyond my knowledge base) but I am sure they can address it. I use SiteGround and they are pretty awesome.

Funny thing is that now that I think about it, I recall seeing this same bug before but never considered that it was a server configuration issue.

    Thanks again.

Wow, you work quickly. Saw you just updated it!

My host is pushing back on me that it is a server issue. Their awesomeness noted previously is officially redacted. ??

I’ve seen that bug before with other themes so I know it is not something specific to my WP install and seems to be a server situation.

    Hey Anders,

I downloaded your Chaplin theme and started playing around with that too (clearly, I enjoy the aesthetic of your themes. :P).

Just an FYI that I’m seeing the same navigation issue in Chaplin as we were discussing here with Eksell. I also downloaded Hamilton but didn’t see it there. Have not downloaded any other of your themes.

    thanks

    Hi @sgclark,

Thanks for the heads up – I should’ve thought about including the same fix in Chaplin as well. It should be resolved in version 2.6.5, which is live now.
