Non-breaking space HTML?characters fed into posts widgets

Neat plugin, but I sometimes have an issue with things like ‘Latest Posts’ or ‘Popular Posts’ widgets in sidebars. They seem to pull in the non-breaking space and insert it into the headlines/excerpts. Is there any way around this?
