• Since I upgraded to WP 3.0.1 today nearly every link on my page takes me to a 404 page:
These include all of my menus, the “more” links, the “previous page” link, clicking on the title of the post and every archive link. Did something change significantly in the way wordpress works or is there some problem with my database perhaps?

Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

Thanks, James. That seemed to resolve the issue with most of the permalinks, but there were no instructions after saving for editing the .htaccess file. I am still having intermittent (sp) issues with some permalinks. Re-saving the permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks solves the issue, but once I switch them back to my custom structure which worked for years (/%postname%/) they seem to fail again.
