Need a Calendar

Please help me find a calendar that suits my needs! I need a very simple calendar that can be just a widget in the sidebar or both a widget and a page. All I need is a view of the month and the ability to add a 2-3 word note in the day. I’d like to be able to click to view other months as well. No need to display hours, events, locations etc… What I’ve found so far is too complex, I don’t know how to simplify them.
