Need a gap between each image on a horizontal carousel / slider

Hi,
Is it possible to insert a CSS gap betwwen each image on horizontal carousel slider ? as all my images are tight up against each other when slider carousel is on Auto mode.
I tried custom css on the padding and margin but that only covers the overall slider layout. Is there a “Hack” anyone knows of?

I really dont want to have to make a white border round each image in a graphics package.
