Need a good theme or plugin for a catalog-based site

  • I’m looking to use WordPress for an educational website. The main function would be listing courses (100s of courses). Haven’t found a nice theme or plugin for that, but I’m sure I could modify a catalog based theme or plugin.

    It’s not the design, but the functionality I am after: good robust search based on tags and categories with a nice, user-friendly presentation.

    If anyone knows of one, free or premium, please let me know.
