• Hi. I am a little between a rock and a hard place trying to get some customization support for the linked website. My hosting is with Go Daddy but not their “managed” WordPress product. I simply installed WordPress from their control panel and did the setup myself. In doing that, I found I had access to some “Go Daddy” themes and I chose one called “Profile”. I want to make a customization. The linked page has a photo in the sidebar which in the Theme settings is called Profile Photo. It shows up on every page above the menu.

What I would like is to either turn it off on some pages or even better change the photo on some pages. This feature is not built in to the theme. There is either a photo or their isn’t.

Since it is Go Daddy sourced theme, it is not listed if I search in the Theme section of www.ads-software.com. That is where I would normally go to ask for support like this. I went on a chat with Go Daddy and after a while they said they don’t support any code changes etc.

So other than changing Themes, is there a way I can get some help controlling which pages the Profile photo shows on? I can make code changes or add custom CSS but don’t know what to add or change.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Your best bet is to use a plugin like Dynamic Widgets to control when a widget is displayed, and then use a normal image widget to display what you want.
Trying to do things on specific pages with a theme is silly, since the whole purpose of a theme is to make the pages look uniform.

Moved to Fixing WordPress, this is not an Everything else WordPress topic.
