Need a tutorial for create a map.

You need to include a shortcode [geo2 …some options] on your web page. This will be replaced by a map. On this plugin mage page there is FAQ with some examples.

You can also search online for how to add a shortcode to WordPress in general.

You can also check other posts. Some people had some problems as well and they found a solution.

Although, I do not remember any similar problem. I’m not sure what does it mean. Hmm. Maybe your Bing key is incorrect?

I have the following shortcut on the page:
[geo2 geocoding_provider=bing / mapquest / openstreetmaps / no]
But I only see the map, not the pictures I have in the gallery.
I don’t see anything with the following shortcode either:

[geo2 thumb_title=1 / 0]

I took the pictures in Bellinzona in Ticino.

Do I have the wrong shortcode?
Twice I copied the shortcode into the page. Once in the “General” tab and once in the “Geocoding” tab.

Do I need to fill out any other fields?

Which parameter do I have to specify so that the map automatically shows Bellinzona?

Now I’ve set up a new account on developer.mapquest.com to start all over again. I copied the code and placed it in the General and Geocoding tab.

But it’s even worse.

Is there a step by step guide somewhere? 1)… 2)… 3)…
So not one FAQ that shows a thousand possibilities. Only one simple possibility which works then.

Also nicht eine FAQ welche tausend M?glichkeiten zeigt. Nur eine einzige einfache M?glichkeit welche dann funktioniert.

First of all, you should specify only one option:

[geo2 geocoding_provider=bing / mapquest / openstreetmaps / no]

[geo2 thumb_title=1 / 0]

Please notice that in FAQ examples there are no /. Forward slash separates availble options.

Secondly, options in the shortcode will override global values from the plugin settings page. You do not need to use “geocoding_provider=…” option in the shortcode unless only for this specific map you want to use a different map provider.

What is most important is to specify what photos should be shown on a map: from specific NextGEN galleries using Shortcode: [geo2 id=1,6,12] or individual photos Shortcode: [geo2 pid=2,4,15]. Alternatively a Wordmap can be created with albums and galleries Shortcode: [geo2 worldmap=1 include=all ].

If your photos have GPS coordinates Geocoding is not needed.
