• 1. You need to set up your email to send out the messages in the first place, which the plugin does not do for you.

    2. I have an existing user database, but the plugin has a separate subscribers list which does not use the WordPress users database. Not only that, I cannot, as the admin, add manually to the database. What a joke!

    Hi skyhrg,

I am sorry you found the plugin’s functionality lacking. If you’d taken a glance at the support threads, you would have seen a discussion (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/transferring-subscribers-to-post-notif?replies=4) where I indicated I was working on implementing subscriber import. In fact, I just released version 1.0.4 of Post Notif today, which includes it.

As for configuring email, I chose to make the sender name and email address configurable because several people indicated they’d like the flexibility to use an email address other than their blog’s admin email account. Of course, you could always set Post Notif to use the admin account, if you so choose.

    Hope this helps,
    Devon
