Need advice on RSS and WP customization

  • Hi all,
    I work in a restricted office environment and am building a custom website. I wanted to develop the site using Worpdress, but we are not allowed to customize the theme (just very basic CSS) nor mess with the database or URL.

    So, I was looking at finding a way to parse the RSS feed and then display it on the custom website so the customer can use WP as a CMS to power certain pages of the custom site.

    Looks like I’ll be allowed to install a wordpress plugin if i tell the IT department which one to look at. I need a suggestion on one that will allow me to display posts and articles on my custom site with a bit more control …like being able to show what parts of the post/article can be displayed on the custom site such as article images, number of comments in that article, etc.

    Is there a recommended plugin for this? does such a thing even exist?
