Need approval before viewing profile?

    Hi
    My apologies if this has been answered before; do users have to have been approved by UM before they can view a profile page? I want to have Admin review, but also want to redirect users (after they’ve registered but before they’re approved) to the specific profile page I’ve set up so they can see what they’ve entered on the Registration page.
    However – I’ve set that up in the Subscriber user role with a custom redirect URL, that Profile form is user specific to Subscriber, which is the default role, but users are sent to the site home page after registration.

    I suggest that you create two roles:

    First role( with limited access to profiles / features ) should be assigned to the user on registration

    Second role ( with all access to profiles / features ) shoud be assigned to the user when they are approved by admin. Remove the first role after assigning second role to the user.

    Many thanks for your response. In the meantime I’ve set up a workaround; users are auto-approved, so they are taken straight to their profile page, where they can check the details they’ve given. Their UM-generated welcome email, though, has been edited to tell them to wait while their application is approved (details checked by us, subscription payment taken etc); it’s only once that’s happened that their role is changed from the default Subscriber to our Club_member, which triggers an email (via Better Notifications plugin) welcoming them to the Club.

    This seems to work; the login page & menu link are only viewable by Club_member users. When I’ve time, however, I’ll explore your suggestion – thanks again for it.
