• Running the latest BuddyPress along with BuddyPress Media.

In order to allow more formats to be supported for user uploads, it looks like one would need to buy the BuddyPress Media addon called BPM-FFMPEG.

What I am trying to find out is how I can use the tools I already have on my servers to convert/compress practically any format I already support to be uploaded by BuddyPress users.

Reading about this plugin, it sounds like that is what this plugin will allow me to do, to use my own ffmpeg and other tools.

    Can you please confirm this.

    Thanks.

Ok well, it won’t accept mpg or avi either so something else is wrong.

Gotta head out for lunch so will get on this when I get back.
The common error seems to be I/O error.

I can’t find any information on the IO error, it’s too general. I’ve searched high and low and have read countless posts which lead to nothing.

This will take a while to figure out as it’s not even generating any errors or error logs.

Just wanted to let you know that we’re going to be updating the plugin tonight/tomorrow with revised ffmpeg command.
Some versions of ffmpeg extension seem to have issues with -vtag avc1 and -f mp4, so we’ll be removing though.
If you have issues with thumbnails being created while the video files not, this update could solve it.
Also, we’re going to add an option to specify the path to ffmpeg installation.
    Regards,
    Alex
