    Hello,

First thanks for your plugin. This is a very useful and powerful free tool against hacking attacks.

I’m currently doing some tests with the plugin and I noticed a strange behaviour after setting up the “Uploads” tab. I configured a new upload path and left the default “Block uploads URL” to “No” in order to preserve the old URL address for my new files.

Now “wp-content/uploads” is well hidden and replaced by my new “virtual” path in URLs.

If I insert a new media in a page (or a post), and then disable the plugin, I see that my new media still retains the new vitual path in the “src” attribute. But it works because the “srcset” attribute contains the wp-content/uploads path.

    Is it the normal behaviour?

Moreover I noticed that all medias from the media library have the virtual path in their address? Why is it not the real address on the backend side when “Block uploads URL” is turned off?

    Sylvain

    Hi,
Thanks for your feedback, i’ll check the src and srcset issue, possible there’s a glitch with that part.
As clarification of the Uploads setting, within the editor it will use the virtual address only if Block uploads URL is turned on. Since no files are being available through default url, it will rely on virtual. But when you disable the plugin, the virtual urls will stay, however there’s no rewrite code anymore.
All new links will be the same, there’s no difference between admin and front side, this is the way it works.
There’s a bit of additional description for that part within the plugin interface.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Many thanks for your quick answer. That is how I understood it.

I just checked again, with Block uploads URL turned off, the virtual address is used within the editor when I add a new media in a page or post…

So this behaviour is not normal, isn’t it ?

    Hi,
Indeed, this appear to run incorrect, i’ll check it further and update for the next release.

    Thanks
