• Yesterday I clicked on the automatic upgrade to 2.8 but had to discontinue and close the browser after clicking the “Automatic Upgrade” button.

This morning, when I try to log in, after entering the password, it gives me this error:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function _cleanup_header_comment() in C:\websites\vistabella\blog\wp-admin\includes\plugin.php on line 89

    PLEASE help. Anyone?

  • temporarily rename your plugins folder
    log in
rename it correctly and re-activate plugins

    just to sum up:

    1) delete current wp-admin folder
    2) download 2.8
    3) copy downloaded/new wp-admin folder from unzipped files and paste into same location where old wp-admin was

    am i getting this correct?

are all our blogs and themes/blog design safe in this process?

    thanks so much samboll

    anyone? help? ??

you need to delete what is is inside wp-includes/

then upload the fresh 2.8 files.

    Note I said wp-includes/ — NOT — wp-admin/includes

    as was suggested before.
