Need help Adding Page Template to Blog Page

  • Ok…I have a static home page and I have assigned my posts to be on a page called “blog”. I have created a php file in my theme directory called blogpage.php which is a page template that I am trying to assign to my Blog page. I can see and choose the Blogpage template when I edit the page, but my template is not actually displaying. Anybody know what I could be doing wrong?

  • That is because you have told your page called “blog” to be the blog page and the blog page displays posts using index.php. Therefore make your index.php the same as blogpage.php without it being a page template.

    Worked Perfect! Thank you very much for your help. It looks like I was thinking to hard, and I overlooked something simple.
