Need help changing color of content box

Hey all,

I’m adding:

#featured {

background-color: #fdf6f9;

}

to my child theme and nothing is happening. . Is it possible that I’ve got code somewhere else in my child theme overriding it? I’ve looked and don’t see any . . .
