need help editing my theme

hey everyone, I’m new to the blog seen and have been modifying my theme and there are a few things i just cant figure out. I’m not a programmer but have figured out number things. the following is what I’m trying to figure out for my site toonice4TV.com. Please note that I really have only one post so far as i’ve been trying to get the look and feel finalized before i really get into it. i need things looking right before i dive in blogging. its just the way i am. OK, so here is what i could really use help with…
1. how do i modify the information directly below post titles? i would like to hide the author info as well as not have it say “filed” and just list the categories.
2. I would like to make the date posted more prominent in that it possibly shoes an image of a calendar like i’ve seen in other themes with the date larger.
3. you’ll notice in my topics section the items are intended. well the original .css file has little icons there that i would ideally like to change and also make visible because they won’t show up for some reason. any thoughts?

Again, im real new to this so any info would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
