Need Help Getting Started

  • I already have a website made. I would like to integrate wp into the website without changing the “template” of my site. Can I just add the right code into the page I want to display the blog? How can I do this and what code do I need? Any help would be great.

    Because that’s the thread where joecuk is trying to get an answer to this question. He probably has it bookmarked and would prefer to check there for the solution rather than here.

    Could you both clarify what version you’re using? The loop and the call to the wp engine is different in 1.5 builds to how it is in 1.2.

    That official “The Loop” page doesnt include this line of code:

    <?php the_content(); ?>

    Its probably obvious to most I suppose but I didn’t realise I needed to add that.

    Well, it does say the page is incomplete; I expect when it’s done it will explain you need to put the functions in between that code and have a link to the template tags pages ??

    I didn’t realize when I installed wordpress how much I would need to know to simply get a blog on my site. All I want is to put my logo at the top and make the colors match my site. I didn’t realize it was so complicated since I don’t know css to save my life. I was hoping to have my site running by the end of the week but it looks like my only option now is to find someone to do it for me in which I can forget since I don’t have the money to hire anyone. But thanks for the help anyway everyone.
