I’m trying to configure an auto-responder email template by using the MailPoet and MailPoet 3 plugins in WordPress. I don’t like the basic WordPress contact form email auto-repsonder they use in WordPress. The contact form is all setup on the home page of the landing page and configured, as well as, the auto-responder email. I just can’t figure out how to integrate the email template into WordPress contact form 7.

I’m not the most experienced person when it comes to WordPress, so I’m trying to find videos on this topic, but they all seem confusing. I might have to end up hiring a freelancer to do this for me, if worse comes to worse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hi,

You can setup your own contact form with contact form 7. But the subscription confirmation e-mail is sent by mailpoet. That is due to GDPR regulations. You cannot change the looks of the consent mail unfortunately.

    Hi Peter,

Appreciate you getting back to me here. So, you’re saying that WordPress doesn’t allow anyone, even businesses to configure or change the look of their auto-reposnder emails or campaign emails??

All I really want to do is change the color of my fonts, bold and add an image. The default auto-responder email from contact form 7 in WordPress doesn’t allow any of that. I wish I could add a link here to show you what I am talking about.

    Hi Mike

No that is not what I am indicating, because it is not WordPress that does not allow you to change the auto-responder!!. It is Mailpoet that does not allow you to change their response for the subscription. They remove any html or css from their response email if you add them. This is done to prevent spam or not functioning of the plugin.

    Hi Pete,

Ok yes, I already installed that MailPoet3 plugin. I did all my due diligence on this already and saw that this MailPoet3 plugin was needed. I suppose, that’s what I am asking here on the forum. How do I get the MailPoet3 plugin to work? I can’t seem to get it (Mail Poet 3 email template) integrated into Contact Form 7.

Any ideas? Trying to find YouTube videos on it last night and now again this morning. Any help would be appreciated. I really love the email template MailPoet has, especially w the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. The emails look clean, and it’s very user friendly. I’m trying to stay away from HTML coding here as well. Thx Pete. ??

    Pete,

I think I might have figured it out the issue here. I only see the MailPoet plugin installed in my WordPress back office. I do not see the Mail Poet 3 plugin installed. I activated it, with the activation key code, and it shows it’s active, but I do not see the plugin on the left side bar.

    Support email states this:

Manually installing the MailPoet 3 Premium plugin:

If for some reason the MailPoet 3 Premium plugin fails to be installed on your website after validating your key, you can do it manually by installing the zip code.

You’ll be able to download the Premium plugin on your MailPoet account account.mailpoet.com/account

I can’t find the zip code in the folder. No idea what folder it’s in.

Do you think that’s the problem here?

If Mailpoet is not installed then it obviously will not work
Did you download the plugin from your MailPoet account ??
If so than the zip file will be located in your download folder of your browser
So you need to check where your browser is storing your downloads
IF you have found it, then you can install it via the plugin installer.
Simply choose “install plugin” and then “upload” the plugin
After uploading you can install and activate it.
    Hope this helps you

Ok, that’s where I’m at right now. I have found the download folder, but can’t seem to find the .zip file within the folder, to upload it into my Mail Poet 3 plugin. All I see is the following folders: 1) assets 2) includes 3) languages then I see 3 .txt files and 2 .php files.

Within the assets folders I see 3 folders 1) css 2) ing 3) js

Can’t seem to find the .zip file anywhere. That sound solve my problem. The regular Mail Poet plugin is installed, as I see that on the left side bar within WordPress. But I do not see the Mail Poet 3 / Contact Form 7 plugin installed.

    Any guesses on that?

    Mike

    Hello @mikelamonica,

Thanks for writing. ?Sorry for the problem installing the MailPoet Premium plugin. If the MailPoet Premium plugin is not installed on your site, you can go to MailPoet Settings > Key Activation, then click the ‘verify’ button.

Once your activation key is verified, it will automatically install and activate the Premium plugin.

?Let us know if you need further assistance.

    ?Thanks,
