• I have set up a local news and Event information site for our area, it’s https://www.rceno.com , here is the problem, I have purchased a premium newspaper theme and need to change a lot to get the theme working correctly. So I want to do a fresh install of WordPress (It’s currently in my root) and I want it in a Sub-directory) to give me more flexabilty with the hosting space. However, I don’t want to loose my content. (Plus I want to define the database for the content, the current database was auto assigned by the install program by hosting service and I do not have the password to the current Mysql database)

I know how to do a fresh install, but like I said I don’t want to loose my postings, I already have….. Is there a simple way to do this?

  • You can try exporting the current posts through “tools”–>”export”. That will download a file that you can import into your new installation. Hopefully that gets all of the postings for you.
