• Firefox is my browser of choice.

Today I was checking what my blog looked like in IE and was horrified to discover that my index page was not displaying correctly. I’m getting partial view – the last two posts at most and then this: <!–[endif]–>

Can anyone tell me what’s happened and more importantly how the heck I can fix it.

The two blogs in question are:
    https://abcwritersnetwork.co.uk
    https://vegetarian-worldwide.com

I hate to think how long the blog has been like this.

  • kevin, if you view Page Source in Firefox, and do a find for “endif”, you will see your problem. The code that is causing this issue will show up in green.

There are multiple chunks of this code that you must fix.

With “endif”, my initial hunch would be that you are “bleeding” PHP into your HTML code.

But the green copy that is screwing up your pages includes text like “WordDocument” in it. So I think that you are pasting something into your posts that WordPress doesn’t like.

You will need to go to your posts, like the “Man – Fruitpicker Turned Hunter” post, edit the post and look at the HTML view, you should see some junk that needs to be removed.

Make sure when you paste text into WordPress, that you use paste as plain text or paste as Word functions.

Many thanks jleuze, think I have the problem sorted out now – lesson it doesn’t pay to take shortcuts

    Sorry, back again.

I thought I had the problem beaten but went back today and discovered that, when viewing https://www.abcwritersnetwork.co.uk in IE, the display size appears much larger in a number of the posts. This seems more obvious is you look at the sidebar.

As jleuze suggested I went through all my old posts – at least those that appear on the first page and got rid of the rubbish code, everything seems clean now.

I’ve also checked for the phrase “endif” in page source and I seem to have got rid of them all

Again any suggestions and again many thanks for any help offered.
