Need help re: cover image on Homi Theme

Hello, I am using the Starter Theme Homi from Blocksy. This theme has a cover image that goes to the top of the page which I thought I would like. After changing the image to my own, I think it looks better with a coloured header rather than the image. The issue that I have is that when I change the header to a different colour, it seems to mess with the remaining image. It cuts off the top of the picture. I “think” that it might have to do with the fact that the coding says the image goes all the way to the top of the page and just cuts off that part of the picture. I would like to lower the picture so that it shows all of her head, rather than cutting it off. My site isn’t live at the moment so I can’t provide a URL. I would prefer not to remove what is there because everything else is perfect and I don’t want to mess anything up. I am not sure if I need additional coding, or what to even look for. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
