    Greetings,

I have almost zero experience with WordPress and I’ve kinda inherited a film festival webpage. I’m trying to set up a sort of an “archive” for the last years festival, so all posts and pages would be fully displayed after clicking a link. I’ve been trying to use categories but I had no luck.
The theme is based on underscores.

    Thanks a bunch!

  • Can you expand more on what categories were not helping you solve the issue?

I’ve put all the posts and pages to a category called fekk2015 and when I visit there’s just a link there and not the whole content.

This sounds like a problem with your theme. Could you please activate 2015 or 2016 theme and see if you still have the problem?

    Tried with 2015, same problem.

It may be a problem with your translation plugin then. Which plugin are you using for translations? Try to deactivate that and see if the problem persists. If it does try with 2015 again. If disabling the plugin does not help at all even once you’ve tried 2015 again please let us know what other plugins you are using.

Ok, so for the translations there are qTranslate slug and qTranslate-X if I disable either of them the whole site is inaccessible with some errors. So even if I switch to 2015 there is nothing. The /topics page is also empty aka missing.

    All of my active plugins:
    Advanced Custom fields pro
    Advanced Custom Fields: qTranslate
    Akismet
    Custom Facebook Feed
    Options Framework
    qTranslate slug
    qTranslate-X
    Simple Page Ordering
    Social Media Feather
    Spacer
    Wordpress Editorial Calendar

By the way, thank you so much for helping me.

You are very welcome. The forum is here for you to get help. I do not mind helping one bit!

Could you please temporarily disable all plugins and enable 2015. Tell me if there are errors when you do that also see if the problem persists when you do that?

You could archive previous years’ film festival websites using a free tool such as HTTrack which creates a static archive of html pages. Should be quick and easy to do.

Then you start afresh with WordPress each year.

@jasoncharlesstuartking, Thanks for that! I was not aware of such tools that will come in handy for me as well ??

Welp, tried disabling plugins and enabling 2015, didn’t work. I think the custom theme is somewhat integrated with the posts or pages. I have no idea.

Anyway I achieved success with the HTTrack. I cannot switch between languages though, only english is available, but it’s better than nothing. Maybe I’ll find something in the settings to fix it. But I think I’ll use this.

Thank you both! You’ve really helped me.

To me it sounds like there might be some code missing or a corrupt db that is causing this issue. Not really sure why it would not work on 2015 without any plugins. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Yeah I’m almost sure there is some code problem, but I don’t have the know how to find and fix it. Thanks again!

I would suggest reinstalling the 2015 theme in the case that code is damaged.
Then retest the suggestions made previously with disabling things then if the problem persists you may consider posting a job over at Jobs.WordPress.net to get some help figuring out why it is not working as it should!

I’ve installed a plugin named Simply static and it works like a charm!
