Need help to increase font readability.

The main font is a bit faint, especially when viewed on a PC-sized screen from any slight angle – where they looked washed out and are a bit difficult to see. Especially the links.

– The font looks like it is composed of small dots maybe, pretty cool.
– I want to add visibility without adding emphasis.
– I do not want bold, opaque black-black, or heavy.

I have experimented but cannot achieve the subtlety I see – which is a slight non-opaque effect that lessens the harsh visual contrast of solid black on white. Similar to the font on this WP.org site, which could work too – but don’t think I should change everything.

Any input is appreciated.
