I have been running my website for the past few months and don’t recall receiving any technical issue emails from WordPress in the past. Today I got an email from WordPress that I should fix an issue on my site as it could be a fatal error. The error is:

Error message: Uncaught TypeError: call_user_func(): Argument #1 ($callback) must be a valid callback, first array member is not a valid class name or object

The plugin this error is being reported in is Really Simple SSL. I don’t understand how I should fix this because I don’t remember doing anything recently that could have caused it. I was also given the Stack Trace for the error but I don’t know how to utilise it.

    Hi @humna123,

Are you using the latest version of the Really Simple SSL plugin? If not, could you update the plugin to the latest available version, to check if the reported issue still returns afterwards?

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hello @jarnovos

I checked and I have the latest version installed, so I am unable to understand what I should do as all other sources state I may need to update. I contacted the support team via mail but I don’t know what else could be causing the problem.

    Hi @humna123,

I would recommend monitoring this behavior to see if it still occurs, so, please monitor whether you receive any further e-mail messages regarding the issue.

If you do receive another one of those mails, please send us another message via support(at)really-simple-ssl.com and attach the full error that’s being reported. That would allow us to investigate further.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hello @jarnovos,

I did actually mail your support team with the precise error details and am waiting for their reply, meanwhile, when I checked my Site Health the same day I received the error mail, I had a critical error of: ‘Background Updates not working as expected’:

    • Error The automatic_updater_disabled filter is enabled.
    • Error? All automatic updates are disabled.

I then accessed my wp-content file and mu-plugins file and somehow solved the issue. I’m now getting the same notification and despite updating the file, the error won’t disappear. I’m trying to contact my hosting site support team in this regard, Do you think this could be the problem? Is there anything else I should do?

    Hi @humna123,

I haven’t received any e-mails that seem to relate to this thread yet. In any case, have you received any further reports about the error you initially experienced or did it only occur that one time?

The automatic update message in Site Health should be unrelated to this plugin though, but it means that you likely have a setting activated that disables automatic plugin updates.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hello @jarnovos

I did send an email to the Really Simple SSL Support Team, and if you’re willing to help me out further I can email you again the Error details for assistance.

About the critical error of automatic backup failure I had in Site Health, I contacted my Hosting provider and it’s back to ‘Good’ status, I also mentioned the plugin error I was facing and they recommended I restore my WordPress core files and guided me to do so.

It would be extremely kind of you if you or your team could now look into the plugin issue and confirm if everything is all right now. I am willing to send you all the required details so you can confirm the site is sorted. I haven’t been given any further updates on the error from WordPress in this regard.

I’m sorry for the continuous inconvenience but when I recheck my Site Health I’m continuously getting notifications of certain scheduled events being late. The notification I have right now is: “The scheduled event, litespeed_task_imgoptm_pull, is late to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.” I mentioned this to my provider as well and they referred an article to me. I installed the Missed Scheduled Post Publisher Plugin in this regard but I still am getting these notifications in ‘Site Health Recommendations.’ Should I worry about this?

Your kindness and patience is extremely appreciated. Kindly help me solve these issues.

    Hi @humna123,

It doesn’t look like I have received an e-mail from your end, so you could share the error message here instead.

The remaining Site Health notice is unrelated to this plugin, and seems to relate to LiteSpeed Cache. If you have questions on how to resolve that, their support team will be better equipped to assist with this.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hello @jarnovos

Thankyou for your offer to help!

The message I received from WordPress (important details) was as follows:

“WordPress has a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Really Simple SSL.

I contacted my Hosting provider about this issue and they recommended restoring my WP core files which I did last night. Should that have solved my issue? Do I need to do something else? Your Kind help would be appreciated.

That is all the required information regarding the plugin problem, the other Site Health issues I have already mentioned to you and as you say they are not concerned with this plugin.

I will wait for your response. Thanking in anticipation.

    Hi @humna123,

the uncaught type error in Really Simple SSL is ad odd one which shouldn’t occur. It could be this was a temporary glitch. Since you have now updated the plugin to the latest version I suspect this issue won’t occur again. If it does, please let us know so we can investigate it.
