  • Dashboard > Products > Attributes
set up an parachute size attribute. It should have one term for each size.

Dashboard > Products > Add product
In the Product Data section, General tab, set “variable product”.

In the Product Data section, Attributes tab, choose the size attribute that you created earlier. Ensure “used for variations” is checked.

In the Product Data section, Variations tab, choose “create variations form all attributes”.

When its run, open each variation in turn and set the price.

Thank you so I went through and did all this but only one of the sizes is showing up on my parachute page after I publish it https://fitnessandkids.com/product/playparachutes/ you can see here only the 40′ is showing up and I went through and did all sizes, Do you know what I did wrong?

    Thank you
    Denise

Make sure each variation has a price.

If you have manage stock set in WooCommerce settings, then, in the Product Data section you would make sure “manage stock at product level” is unchecked. Next, go to each variation in turn and make sure its in stock.

I went through several times to make sure price is set but now all that is coming up are the different sizes but it when I click on a size it says sorry this product is not available. I went and unchecked the manage stock in the settings since I dont need this. Can you see what I am now doing wrong?

    Thank you

The data for your variations is in the page markup and can be examined. WooCommerce thinks you have 12 variations. 7 are showing and the 5 not showing don’t have a size attribute set. I suspect your variations tab is showing only 7 variations? Please check. So you have 5 incomplete variations that shouldn’t be there. There have been posts on here before about corrupted variable products but its quite rare.

    Go to:
WooCommerce > Status > Tools tab
click the “Delete orphaned variations” button, and while you are there, click the two delete transients buttons. Does it work now?

If not, you have got a corrupted product. Its probably not repairable. It will be easier to make a fresh product, then delete the old one. It gets easier with practice!

so the attribute I set should only be the sizes and then the prices go in the drop down boxes in under the variable tab? Seems to me the price should also be showing up next to the sizes on my webpage? Not sure though.

    Thank you
    Denise

Yes, the terms of the size attribute consist of only the text describing the size.

Yes, the prices go in the drop-down boxes in the variations tab.

No. There are two price positions for a variable product page. The upper one is the range of prices of all the variations on offer. This is static. The lower price position near the add-to-cart is the price of the selected variation. This price will only appear if a variation is selected, it has a price and its in stock. If the user chooses another variation, another price should appear.

I think I got it! Thank you so much for helping me. I have a huge headache from this, LOl. next time it will be easier, I think I struggled so much because the page was bad so I created a new one like you said and deleted the old one and it worked great!

    Thank you
    Denise

Yes, there’s a learning curve but it gets easier.

Looks good now. The next thing you’ll want to do is to reorder the terms so the 6 appears before the 12. At the moment the terms are in alpha order so 6 is after 12.

To do so, go to Dashboard > Products > Attributes. Find your size attribute in the list. As you hover over the name, “Edit” appears, click that. On the next screen, ensure the Default sort order dropdown is set to “Custom ordering”. Return to the previous page and click “configure terms”. Hover over the 3 little bars on the right of the row, then drag and drop the rows into numerical order.

I did what you said but now when I view my page the 6′ and 12′ parachutes do not show up on my page. Ugh this is very frustrating.
