Need help with everything

    Hi
    I wonder if there’s a more detailed “how-to” guide or “idiots guide” to Aesop? Although we’ve downloaded the Aesop plug-in we’re struggling a bit with lots of the components.

    For example, I’m not entirely sure what a “collection” does. When the component WP boxes come up I have no idea what I’m supposed to enter. Have tried experimenting but it failed dismally.
    Can’t figure out how to use the timeline either. And would love to use a gallery but it just comes up with a box that says choose gallery to insert here with no options to be able to click!
    I also remember seeing a gallery page on the Aesop homepage with examples of all the different components in action but do you think I can find it now?!
    Basically I’m just a bit all at sea. Some components are fine like the chapter headings, pictures and character but I’m not finding it very intuitive so I thought maybe a detailed handbook or instructions might help me figure out where I’m going wrong.

    The collection component allows you to create a category based collection of posts: https://aesopstoryengine.com/help/collection-component

    The timeline component can be inserted at an area of a post that you want a reader to be able to scroll-to: https://aesopstoryengine.com/help/timeline-component

    Galleries are created and managed under the “Galleries” tab located at WordPress Admin → Galleries and utilizes the standard WordPress galleries. This means you can add/remove images as well as add captions. The Gallery component creates a gallery of images which can be displayed in multiple formats and are inserted into a story with a shortcode.     Hi Michael
    Can you show me examples of the timeline and collection in action?
    Are you able to hyperlink the galleries to take you to different parts of the article (essentially using them as a quick links device)?

    Is this true?

    I just installed Aesop and used the gallery tool. It removed the hyperlinks from the gallery images. Why?

    This is the main purpose for a thumbnail gallery. Has this been addressed? This is a complete deal breaker for me. Makes no sense.

    The gallery images are either linked to a modal or a standalone image without any hyperlinking.

    That is the way our demo works. You can, however, download the plugin for free straight from your WordPress dashboard.
