Need help with how to put a snippet on the homepage

    Hello,

    I am using Simplefolio theme and I have 3 widgets where I can put what I want in 3 columns on the front page. I am able to create a text on the front page using the “Text/html ” option from the widgets, however What I’d like to achieve is something like a teaser or the posts say for example, the about me on the left column and then have the link to read more or view more. so that it will take me to the real page or category where. Can someone please help me with this issue?
    I believe I just need to add the code to the static pages like in https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page .
