Need help with the Almera theme

I recently updated my website using the Almera theme. I have all my content added, but I cannot figure out two problems.

First I cannot figure out how to link my home page images to their respective pages within the site. I’ve tried using the image editor and I’ve tried using custom urls within the images in the media library.

Second I cannot figure out how to hide the name of the homepage portfolio. It shows up on the left side of the homepage.

Third I cannot change the skin template. The options for the built in color skins don’t even appear in the drop down menu.

Any help rendered would be greatly appreciated!!!
