Need help with wordpress and web addresses

Hello all,

I currently have my website located at https://www.example.com.

I am working on a brand new one (new website all together) at https://www.example.com/new.

I eventually want that “new” site to be visible by accessing https://www.example.com.

What is the best way to do this? Will deleting the current wordpress and dragging the files from the new one over be the best? Or is there a setting I can just change in the new wordpress site that will make it think that it’s address is https://www.example.com?

Or would the best way just be to use some redirect utils through my cpanel?
