• The coming demise of Yahoo Pipes could see this plugin become even more popular. I write for a news site and my stories appear in different RSS feeds from different sections of the paper. Currently I use Pipes to combine these feeds, locate stories that I wrote by byline, remove duplicates and post from that feed into WordPress. The URL gives me a way to assign categories eg. if /personal-tech/ is in the RSS URL, I can assign this to a tech reviews category.

Multi importer can do much of this, but the category filtering isn’t quite so sophisticated to handle this – I think. It’s hard to tell from the documentation. Is anyone else interested in being able to create category filters with a little more sophistication, that can filter text based on character combinations in any field?

Even better, is anyone interested in using regex (regular expressions) for filtering posts in categories? If the author is around, he might, but I see from another post that he may not be. In that case, would a fork be a good idea?

  • I, too, am scrambling to replace Yahoo Pipes

Filters are critical to what I’m seeking

I haven’t used this plugin yet

Does it currently filter on only single words?

    Will it filter on phrases?

The author’s example: “I want these words”

Will it filter for that whole phrase?

Also, the author states: “You can put in more than one word or phrase – just separate them by a comma”

Of course, that limits phrase filters to phrases WITHOUT a comma, correct?

griffithc, please, let me know how you resolve your search
