  • Just had a friend ask me about this and wasn’t able to find anything like this. He would like to be able to have users upload various photos/graphics files and have a plugin convert them into a PDF file.

Hi Vaam Yob – what I need is an event calendar plugin which includes the ability to input events for several “local” towns which have different events on the same dates and implements saving various “named” calendars on the same site without needing to duplicate a bunch of files and code. My local portal site here for instance cover numerous towns in this “tri-state” area, each of which has events to be listed, many of which events will occur on the same dates and at the same times.

So a visitor to Mesquite would be able to choose the Mesquite calendar to figure out his Friday night, then switch to the Cedar City calendar to decide on a Shakespearean play for Saturday, then bring up the St George calendar to choose a hike for Sunday.

This can of course be done with a “normal” event calendar – though it’s cumbersome and inelegant, since you have to do pop-opens to full pages, then have people look down through many many lines of many towns to find information.

[I can’t say for sure that this is exactly what EncryptDesigns is looking for, btw.]

yaamyob you are the KING of wordpress plugins!

    “verymum,
I’ll work on a custom contact-us plugin on a slow afternoon… please be patient.”

Thank you! You ARE the king of wp plugins ??

I would love to see a calendar with some AJAX like function to pop up a little box to remind a user (after they log in) of events (today or upcoming).

Even having a small block under the calendar that automatically fills in a small blurb about todays events based on events already on the calendar.

    Hi Vaam Yob

If you ever get bored. There is a wordpress plugin called Feedwordpress. There are two parts to the plugin one is the feedwordpress file. Thats been modified for WP2 & works fine. However the second part called update-feeds gives a 404 error when accessed via a browser under WP2.0.

I dont have the skills to understand why, was wondering if you would be prepared to look at it.
I’ll post the links to the files when/if you find the time.

Thanks you for helping so many WP members and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Regards
    Brian

OK so I have a 3rd plugin I’d like to see:

a sort for the_category() that sorts hieragraphically and alphabetically.

    verymum,

It took me longer to get the css figured out than the actual php coding. If anybody has “spiffed” up the css and would like to submit it, I’d greatly appreciate it.

    Features:
    1. Unlimited number of contact fields.
    2. Manual positioning/ordering of fields
    3. Support for checkbox/textarea/text/select(option) field types
    4. Required fields

You can see it in action and download here:

Until version 2.0 I used the nextPreviousDay plugin by ScriptyGoddess to get a monthly navigation when on the monthly pages:
<< januari | march >> when actually being on the february archive page.

This plugin doesn’t seem to work when using permalinks, and I just switched to permalinks because I read somewhere that they’re better for search engines.

I would appreciate some kind of new plugin for this (ScriptGoddess doesn’t spend so much time anymore on her site)

Hi VaamYob, does the custom contact me plugin prevent people from spamming the contact form?

Thank you for all the useful plugins you’ve created for us by the way. ??

    VaamYob,

That is PERFECT, thank you so much! Do you have a tip jar or a paypal donations area, this is fabulous.

    VaamYob,

Re: the custom contact form: I think there might be a little bug in the top area options:

    Successs Response:
    Email Subject:
    Missing Required Field Message:

When I click “update options” it doesn’t seem to save my changes. it defaults back.

Would it be possible to be able to tweak this to use it to create more than one contact form (different options and fields) for the same website?

Thanks again, this is really great.

    A couple more things VaamYob,

Is there a way to make the text unlimited in the “Field Label” area? I need to be able to be really specific in what I’m asking them to fill out for me.

Are the text areas limited in how much text my clients can enter? If so, I need that extended too.

We need to be able to assign a width to the text boxes too. (I see I can change the width of the text areas in the css)

    Thanks!

    verymum,

I’ll look into that error with not being able to change the messages.

There is no explicit limit in what your clients can enter.
You can set the width of the text boxes with css also (I think).

I hesitate to change the structure of the table. I’m not 100% confident in wordpress’ auto-upgrade feature.

I’m working on some side($) projects right now so I won’t be able to contribute to this/any plugins for a while. I will keep everyone posted as soon as I have some fixes/plugins.

FYI, after I take care of the custom contact us plugin, a “donation” plugin is what I’ll be writing.
