Except that I don’t subscribe to them anymore and started customizing so I thought I would try here.

check for matching opening/closing divs – you might have removed more from the header than you had planned.
a broken html structure is hardly a wordpress problem, even if it happened in a wordpress theme.

also, helping with commercial themes through this forum is virtually impossible without the free access to all theme files.

Try undoing your changes and then doing it one more time. As Alchymyth said, part of the problem is that we don’t have access to that theme.

The other part is that’s a fairly complicated looking theme…

just put the footer div outside the header div.
Doing so will take the footer after the header div.
