• Hey guys,

I redid one of my websites…I basically tore it down and started from scratch with the wordpress platform again.

I thought I wasn’t going to use any of the old stuff but it looks like I need to access a certain post friom my old wordpress for some html coding I used in it.

I have a full backup of everything and I suppose I can restore it but I don’t want any downtown on my new site which is currently running on that domain. Is their any way possible for me to access the posts so I can get this information? Or, is it possible for me to transfer it to an unused domain so I can login via admin to access the information?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

i would install it to a local webserver runnng on XAMPP, but if you dont already use one, it would be quicker to upload the files to the unused domain. Before restoring the database yo the new server, open up a copy of the database backup file in a txt editor and do a search & replace on the original domain to replace it with the new one. After editing the wp-config. php with the new database connection details you should be able to access the site at the new domain
