Need to add biographic info from WP user profile

This isn’t an issue related with this plugin but with another I’m using that filters that field.

Sorry for the slow reply. Does your second comment mean that the problem was that another plugin was filtering the author meta? (And that it is solved now?)

Exactly, I’m using Polylang a multilanguage plugin.

I didn’t realize that now my members biographic information is found in a different place.

‘description’ is empty and now it has several sub fields as much as languages I have assigned (e.g. ‘description_fr’), that’s why it couldn’t never work.

Anyway the only thing if possible I would recommend to improve with hovercards plugin would be to find a way to make it react faster, just to give you an idea, with a poor machine that I use for tests, I’m getting 7 seconds until a hovercard display by hovering an avatar.

Thanks for sharing that! Someone may struggle with the same problem..

You’re right about the response time, it can take quite long. In production though, for me it’s never more than ~1-1.5 seconds.

Nonetheless, I actually now use a solution that comes up with a lightbox with profile info after an actual click, which greatly improves perceived performance (even though the profile information is now ‘further away’). I’m considering rewriting the hovercard plugin to include both solutions and perhaps find a best-of-both-worlds solution.
