I am a traditional web designer trying to branch out into designing wordpress sites for certain clients. I must admit, it is such a different world and some of the things that I think should be so simple become impossible.

I designed https://rebelchefcafe.com and now I want to add a menu item called Rebel Blog that leads to a blog page called The Rebel Blog. And then when additional posts are added to this blog page, I want them added to that one page.

But I cannot seem to accomplish that. What’s happening is I added a blog post that just creates a a new page. Cannot seem to get it to a separate blog page that is titled The Rebel Blog with varying posts underneath. I added a new Post and got this: https://rebelchefcafe.com/rebel-kids-win-rebel-chef-food-intervention-cook-off/#comments

How can that become The Rebel Blog, with a menu item called Rebel Blog from the main site?

Hope I am explaining this clearly. I told my client this would be easy and would get it done tonight. But now I am stumped. Please help!

  • Where do the WordPress files reside? It looks like they’re in the root folder.

If you want the blog to be at rebelchefcafe.com/blog you need to either place WordPress in a physical folder called /blog or follow the instructions in this article to run WordPress from a different address than the files are hosted in.

Thanks, but I figured out that my template had a blog feature built in so I don’t have to have a subdirectory. Thanks though!

Great! Glad you figured it out.

I misunderstood your original question and thought that it was only the blog page that was run by WP ??
