I need to change the Site administrator on my WordPress account. When the WordPress account was created, the marketing put their email address as the master site administrator. Then created me as a user with admin access. I have since deleted the user with the marketing team email. However, when I change my password, WordPress sends me an email that says

“This notice confirms that your password was changed on MYWEBSITE NAME”.

If you did not change your password, please contact the Site Administrator at THE EMAIL FROM THE MARKETING THAT DEVELOPED MY WEBSITE.”

I have deleted that user from the marketing team, but the master admin email still shows their email. When I try to login to www.ads-software.com it says my user account doesn’t exist. But I can login through my siteground to change my website.

if you are referring to the email address in GENERAL SETTINGS area, it can be changed in the database in the options table (look for PHPMYADMIN area in SiteGround) – make the change to row with admin_email

if you are referring to changing something for a specific user, it can be changed in the database in the users and usermeta tables (look for PHPMYADMIN area in SiteGround)

make a backup of database before changing anything in the database
