• Hi there,

My hosting company (who are awful, I’ve had nothing but problems!) are saying that two of my WP php files are ‘corrupted’ and have suspended all access to my site until I fix it. I have no idea what they mean or what’s happened but I’m obviously keen to fix it so I can get my site back up and running again ASAP.

The files they’ve flagged are wp-css.php and wp-users.php

Their suggestion was that I download a clean version of WP, locate those files and then either compare them to the files I have on my own hosted file manager, of just replace the corrupted ones with those clean files.

However, I’ve downloaded wordpress 3.4 and I can’t find those php files anywhere! Does anyone know where I can find copies?

I’m not massively clued up on this kind of thing so I’m desperately trying to work out what it is I need to do without completely breaking my whole site.

And help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • You could try installing WebMatrix and load a local copy of WordPress to your home computer and then copy the necessary files to your hosting server. And check the files to see why they differ.

Hi cjc1867, thanks for your reply. How is that different from what I’ve already done? I downloaded a copy of WordPress to my home computer, unzipped and searched through the files but I couldn’t find those two php files. I downloaded it from here: https://www.ads-software.com/download/

Is that what you mean? What difference does WebMatrix make?

    Thank you!

The files you want must be generated during the installation, once installed you should have the missing files.

At least doing it this way you can ensure the files are clean as they are on your system.
