• When I was running 2.X (forget which version), I was able to toggle between viewing the wp site and the cpanel without having to re-login every single time. Now I have 3.0, and I have to log in every time I return to wp-admin. Sometimes my username is prepopulated, sometimes my password is prepopulated, and sometimes neither. It’s just an annoying feature; it doesn’t interfere with any other functionality, as far as I can tell.

I’d appreciate anyone’s thoughts on this–not that I’m worried about too _much_ security….

    Thanks.

  • have the same damn situation myself. cant find a way to get around it. would be nice if somebody might actually give some responses

all i can figure out is that for some reason, wordpress think my cookie is not good, therefore prompts me to relogin. I didnt make any changes to cookies and have tried with internet explorer, google chrome and firefox.

Try changing your security keys. Because the automated key generator is completely automated, invalid character combinations can often appear and cause the cookies to malfunction when used in the security keys.

macmanx .. i did that using the online generator for keys and put some of my own with valid chars. Still have to relogin when i try to acces the dashboard. also, didnt mention that after doing stuff on dashboard, coming back to main page and going again to dashboard…i still have to relogin, even if on the main page it says i am logged in

Have you tried this in any other browsers and on any other computers?

Try decativating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

indeed you are right. it appears buddypress does something wrong..gonna chek it out… thank you

Hmmm. I’m not using buddypress, but I’ll work on the security keys. Thanks for all your responses.
