Need to re-load images from wordpress.com blog

I had an issue with uploading pics from my self-hosted wordpress blog. I thought deleting the pics from the library which were imported from the wordpress.com blog where it came from would solve the problem. I did not know that doing so would remove the image in the posts. I tested it once before doing so for quite a number of images and did not seem to be problem. So now, I’m having problem with the images – either I click the square image that brings me to the old dot com blog for the image or I get an error.

Is it possible to re-upload selected images from my wordpress.com blog? If I have to do it manually- can I pick it from the wordpress.com blog since it will be easier rather than locate the original files from my computer?
