I was making a change to the index.php file in my Theme: 1229 and inadvertantly uploaded it to the wp-content folder (overwriting the index.php file there) rather than putting it in the Theme folder.

How can I restore the wp-content index.php file?

    Thx very much

    Jim

What’s in the file? mine only says “silence is golden”. Did something go wrong after you did this?

I fixed the problem.. I was able to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress and it included the correct index.php file.

    Thx

I don’t know what that file even does, just curious, what was the result when you over wrote with your theme index.php?

it caused an error 500 (either a server problem or a coding error)… If the wp index.php file gets messed up your site can’t be accessed at all… I found out the hard way!

well then, I guess silence really is golden, just like it says!
