Need URL changed, file structure on site looks wrong
-
I’m very sorry to be redundant. I see that many people ask the same Q but I can’t find a reply that works for me.
Q: My blog is up and working at bobarno.com/wordpress, but I want its url to be bobarno.com/thiefhunters. I read tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url, but I’m stumped right away because the only database I find is “test,” which contains no tables. I realize this is wrong, and I must be logged in wrong or something. My site works, so there must be a database. Also, most docs I read discuss moving the WP files. I think I need to move my database files — or not?
I tampered with settings for wordpress url and blog url in options>general, got locked out of the admin panel, had everything reinstalled, and now I’m afraid to do anything!
I’m concerned that the entire file structure of my site is wrong or at least, inefficient. .htaccess and index.php are in etc>wordpress-2.3.2>themes>organic-10. Does that seem correct? There also seems to be a lot of duplication, and I can’t find wp-content or wp-includes files anywhere. Perhaps because I only have 2.3.1? Where can I see what the file structure on my site SHOULD look like?
Would someone please help, or point me to explicit walk-throughs? Thanks a million.
