Slight hiccup after installing. I’m not sure it’s even working with my theme. However after searching and searching the internet for a simple solution this fit the bill.

What I think you would benefit from is allowing or adding a shortcode ability. Not everyone would like their reviews to be in the default Woocommerce position. I think the ability to [woocommerce_reviews] anywhere we want. Like in an accordion in the short description area would be killer.

So that’s just my two cents.

It’s been perfect. I can’t tell you how happy we are with it. It’s exactly what we needed. Saved us so much time from programming it ourselves. Thanks man.

Can you please check the new version of the plugin? I’ve added the shortcode as you suggested.

Built-in [cusrev_reviews] shortcode will display reviews inside post, page or widget. You can use this shortcode as [cusrev_reviews comment_file =”/comments.php”] or simply as [cusrev_reviews]. Here, ‘comment_file’ is an optional argument. If you have a custom comment file, you should specify it here.

You need to enable the shortcode in the plugin’s settings on the tab ‘Review Extensions’.

Please be careful with the update and double check all the settings. There is a major modification in how reminder emails are sent.

Hey buddy! Both worked beautifully. Thanks! Anything else you need to me to review let me know. Thanks again for getting on this so fast too.

Hey Ivole, I saw two or three updates in the last week and one thing that has changed that I can’t find to stop is the approving of all comments. They’re automatically getting pushed to the front-end now. I’m not sure that’s a good thing. I have settings to put all comments on hold until approved.

Am I wrong that it worked prior to updates?

    Thanks

Never mind. I found it in your plugin now. Thanks.

Thanks man. It has. One thing I noticed that just happened is folks simply applying stars and not commenting. I don’t know what’s standard but shouldn’t we make the comment box or give an option to make it required? I mean people need to say something. Otherwise it looks so lame. Just a thought.

Yes, this is because the comment field is optional. Some customers don’t bother to write a comment but only leave a rating.

I think I can add an option to make the comment field mandatory but it might be dangerous. Some customers might be willing to submit a rating but don’t want to bother with writing a comment. If you make the comment field mandatory, these customers won’t even leave ratings.

I’m not sure if you shop on Amazon, but they require not only a comment but a headline. This is to ensure verified customers, not bots, are literally writing something. Since bots haven’t learned how to write yet.

I think honestly, any brand would want comments to be required if they cared enough about their business.

OK, I will add an option to make comments mandatory. By the way, bots won’t be able to submit verified reviews because they won’t have access to emails with links to review forms.

I’m just using bots as an example. I can write a script to tell a bot to trigger a 3star or 5star though, I can’t bypass a mandatory field that requires text, although I can write a bot to jumble text. However, the great thing is that we have verified owners only which keeps it as legitimate as possible.

    Thanks

The option to make comments required when submitting reviews was added in version 3.6 of the plugin.

Thanks Ivole. I’ll check it out!
