• Hello,
    I love the idea and what this plugin does! Cheers.

    For more functionality, can I recommend to add manual redirects? Right now, it does automatic redirects using best-guess methods and an option for a default fallback (homepage, 404, custom redirect). However, there are a lot of cases when we need to have certain dead pages go to different individual pages. One problem in particular I have is this term:

    we have a page called /business-blog/ (unfortunately, that’s what the client named the page for so long) and we want visits from terms /blogs and /blog to go to that directory.

    /blogs/* –> /business-blog/*

    However, the plugin can’t figure this out so it goes to the homepage (as per settings).

    When things go like this, it would be handy to have a feature for manual redirect at developer’s choosing.

    I tried using other plugins to override the redirect but it seems to not override what *this* plugin has set – it always goes to home page. (the one I’m using is “simple 301 redirect” – unless someone can recommend a better one).

    This is a support question: I need tips on what to use for manual redirects- until this plugin can offer that feature.

    Hello!

    Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, I don’t plan to add this feature as it is not in the scope of the plugin for the moment. I prefer to saty focused on the main features instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

    In fact, there are already some awesome plugins out there which perfectly handle manual redirections. And yes, WP 404 Auto Redirect to Similar Post is 100% compatible with Simple 301 Redirects & Redirection (to name just a few).

    May I ask what’s your configuration on Simple 301 redirects? You probably did something wrong.

    Try this setting:

    /blogs/ => https://www.mywebsite.com/business-blog/

    Regards.
