    Hi,

We have all these options set to yes:

    • Automatically publish to Apple News
    • Automatically update Apple News
    • Asynchronously publish to Apple News

We also see “Needs to be updated” on some articles in the Apple News admin page.

What’s the expected practice (if any) to keep articles updated once published – is it a manual action on our editors part to review the “Needs to be updated” list and take action or does/can the plugin do that?

Also for some of those “Needs to be updated” articles the hover actions don’t always contain the publish option to, I guess, update Apple News. I did see that in some cases an author or editor was still showing as “editing” the piece of content but that wasn’t the case for all of them. So, as a result, I have some articles that show as “Needs to be updated” but I can’t update them manually.

Perhaps this is related to this comment/issue on GitHub:

    Thank you

I think it’s related to the github issue, so we will look into it when that comes up in queue.

I think I’m having the same issue. Articles published fine, but any edits to them and the Apple News section reads “Needs to be updated” on all of the articles that were edited.

None of the articles tagged as “Needs to be updated” have the option to publish.

I believe it has something to do with Asynchronous Publishing.

I have 11 articles which I published updates to each of them. The plugin got stuck, as I mentioned above. After turning off AP, all updates are published immediately to Apple News (at least according to the dashboard, I haven’t checked the app).

One other thing: articles that are new and published immediately don’t have any problems, they’re pushed to Apple without any issue. It seems to only be updating.

Thanks for the information. There is still a github issue for this that will be looked into at some point in the future.

This will be fixed in version 1.1.6, releasing on Monday.
