    Hey there,

So, to keep things as short as possible, I recently became the Secretary of my University’s Model United Nations Society, and one of the chief responsibilities of the role is to maintain the website. This website is run through WordPress.

Now, suffice to say there were quite a few issues with it already (due to mismanagement by my predecessors), but when I first logged on and started updating some information on the website, I saw that some of the plugins needed updating, along with the actual version of WordPress itself. I tried to start with the latter, which came up as ‘installation failed’. The former were successful.

However, when I then tried to load the website – https://uclmun.co.uk/ – or even try and access the dashboard – https://uclmun.co.uk/wp-admin – nothing comes up. I can’t see anything.

Is this merely temporary due to the updates, or has the website actually been lost?

    Kind Regards,

    – Kyle

  • It may be due to broken plugin.. I am not sure.

Do you have access to your webserver?

Yes I do, at least I think I do (cPanel?)

Apologies for my ineptitude; my predecessors didn’t really take this role seriously, so I’ve inherited very little in terms of resources.

    Okay..

Lets try to uninstall all plugins and see.

    for that,
    – Go to Cpanel.
    – Find “File Manager”

There should a folder called “public_html”. This is where all the WordPress files goes.

    – Now go to wp-content
    – Rename plugins folder.
    e.g plugin_backup

    Now check your site.
