NET-enabling start-tag requires SHORTTAG YES

    I have a problem,
    all header lines generated by WordPress cause NET-enabling start-tag requires SHORTTAG YES W3C error.
    I’ve made theme in html 4.01 Strict, and those lines ending with /> instead of > cause the warning. Any way to force wordpress to remove the / ?
